Procedure
- A thin, flexible tube with a balloon at the end is inserted into the rectum.
- The tube is connected to a machine that measures pressure.
- The patient is asked to squeeze, relax, and push at various times.
- The balloon may be inflated to assess rectal sensation and reflexes.
- Measurements are taken to evaluate muscle strength and coordination.
Note: The procedure typically takes about 30 minutes and does not require sedation.
